Key Responsibilities

The Financial Accountant will support the Financial Manager in all P+L and cash aspects of KU&R's monthly, quarterly and annual internal reporting. You will pull together the 4 business streams monthly P+L reporting into a coherent, accurate result for the total business and report monthly KU&R profit and loss and balance sheet into Oracle Hyperion Financial Management. You will ensure integrity and completeness of monthly and quarterly P+L and cash reporting and on a quarterly basis, consolidate, understand and upload the forecast for KU&R into Hyperion. You will also produce a quarterly forecast balance sheet and report on cashflow, review weekly short term cash forecast and analysis trends in WIP/Debt performance and support the wider business facing finance community with production of ad hoc reports and investigations.

We are always striving to better ourselves here at Kier so you will also work with the Finance Manager to develop a consistent K&UR consolidated management accounts pack driven from HFM including dashboard of key metrics and refine and standardise quarterly forecast inputs and outputs across KU&R business. Also you will develop and maintain existing cashflow model for quarterly forecast cycle and produce a working capital dashboard.

What do we need from you?

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you are a qualified Accountant who is commercially aware. You will be confident when liaising with, supporting and influencing operational / commercial management and be able to produce high quality management information. You will be able to work on your own initiative and also be open to new ideas and ways of working to streamline processes.

Ideally you will already have construction industry experience, with knowledge of Causeway, Oracle and Hyperion. Being computer literate is essential however, it would be great if you also have experience of Microsoft Power BI dashboard tool or similar.
