Finance Manager

We're currently looking to recruit a Finance Manager to be based on our Devonport Dockyard project, delivering a framework of £500m+ over the next 5 years on our Devonport site, which is a JV partnership with BAM. This role will work closely with the business to provide the day-to-day business partnering support, owning the management accounts, controlling the project cashflow, and providing the oversight of the accounts to ensure accuracy.

Location: Plymouth, Devon (on-site 4 days per week)

Contract: Permanent and full-time

Responsibilities

As a Finance Manager, your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing day-to day business partnering support for the project, ensuring the business are operating in line with project policies and providing financial guidance where required.
  • JV monthly management accounts pack and reporting.
  • Weekly cashflow forecasting for the project with ability to explain deviations from prior forecasts and identify any liquidity risks.
  • Produce the monthly parent company recharges and under/over recovery of staff costs.
  • Ensure the monthly CVRs produced are accurate and consistent in their approach.
  • Identifying areas of improvement that will make processes more efficient or controls more robust.
  • Management and cover of Assistant Accountant.

What are we looking for?

This role of Finance Manager is great for you if you have:

  • A professional finance qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
  • Experience within construction or civil engineering ideal but not essential.
  • Experience at a similar level with demonstrable examples.
  • Financial modelling skills (including macros) and a detailed understanding of financial forecasting.
  • Confidence to analyse issues, develop solutions, and implement.
