Base Location : Windsor Street, Birmingham, B7 4DN (5 days per week)

Working Pattern : Mon - Fri  8am - 4pm

As a Fabricator, you'll play a crucial role in supporting both cyclical and ad hoc maintenance activities within our Heavy Workshop. You'll work on a variety of assets, focusing on mechanical tasks such as fitting, cutting, and measuring-site surveys. Additionally, you'll assist in specialist areas like lifting and hot works, while supporting the lead welder with data recording for accurate management and regulatory reporting. Maintaining a proactive environment that prioritizes safety, quality, and timely job completion is essential. There is the potential of working away at other sites as required, travelling to/from site(s) therefore a full driving license is required..

 

  • High-Quality Work: Lead and support work packages, implement best practices, and provide regular updates while shadowing the Lead Welder. 

 

  • Safety First: Ensure a safe working environment, comply with safety and environmental legislation, and contribute to continuous process improvement.

 

  • Champion Cadent Workshops: Be the face of Cadent, support enquiries, and create a customer-focused environment. 

 

What You'll Bring

 

  • Experience & Knowledge: Full driving License. Fabricate and erect structural steels, complete pipe fabrication tasks, work to drawings, and use plant - CNC plasma, CNC brake press, Tag 16,Prep 8, Prep 4 pipe bevellers, Band Saw, Press drills, Over Head Cranes, Oxy Acetylene  etc, Install, repair, and maintain high-pressure piping systems for natural gas transport. Proficiency in general welding to BS EN 286 standards, HSE guidance, and safe control of operations procedures. Advanced knowledge of shop mathematics.

 

  • Desirable Qualifications: Mechanical Engineering NVQ or relevant qualifications, Forklift Truck License, Overhead Crane training. Training will be provided for plant used

 

  • Hands-On Tasks: Fabricate and erect structural steels, complete pipe fabrication tasks, work to drawings, and use plant - CNC plasma, CNC brake press, Tag 16, Prep 8, Prep 4 pipe bevellers, Band Saw, Press drills, Over Head Cranes, Oxy Acetylene  etc, Install, repair, and maintain high-pressure piping systems for natural gas transport.
