We're looking for an Engineer to join our UKPN team based in Crawley.
Location: Crawley - with travel around various sites involved
Contract: Permanent - Full Time
What will you be responsible for?
As an Engineer, you'll be working within the UKPN, supporting them in ensuring that construction work is executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Your day to day will include:
- To be aware of the provisions of the Kier Safety, Health and Environmental Management System and to assist in its implementation to ensure a safe working environment.
- Be aware of ongoing works and making safety interventions where appropriate.
- Regularly inspect and assess the quality and progress of construction work to ensure it aligns with project specifications and quality standards.
- Interpret drawings and specifications, communicating details to the on-site team to facilitate accurate execution of the works. As appropriate prepare sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels are in place for effective understanding.
- Assist in providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered. Identify and address on-site issues, adapting to changing conditions and unforeseen challenges.
What are we looking for?
This role of Engineer is great for you if:
- Experience in construction projects, including knowledge of construction techniques and equipment.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum HND in civil engineering or a related field.
