Due to internal progression within the Energy Division, the admin team have a new opportunity for a dynamic and organised Administrative Assistant to support the division's day to day operations and customer experiences. 

This is no ordinary Admin role- it plays a crucial part in meeting customer needs; be it through dealing with additional load, new services and new electrical supply requests, compiling conveyancing searches, to daily contact with internal partners, customers, lawyers and contractors to support works associated with the distribution network.  
The systems you'll use help to ensure our asset management and other records are kept up to date with daily changes, making sure our community has the energy supply it needs. 

The team you'd join sits at the heart of Jersey Electricity, keeping the lights on for us islanders and so you'll also play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of daily activities within the division. 
The position requires a proactive, adaptable individual who can handle a wide range of energy related administrative tasks and contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.  

This role is open to existing permanent residents of Jersey only. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Conveyancing Searches and provide Cable Maps to Lawyers firms 
  • Create Work requests for Redundant Services, issuing Disconnection Certificates to enable safe site excavations and demolitions to take place  
  • Promptly making all Network Alterations on our systems when works have been carried out by Engineers on site - ensuring the current state of the Network is correctly reflected in our records 
  • Download meter data and create monthly reports for the Finance Director
  • Monitor and manage Customer Enquiries, allocating cases to appropriate owners, ensuring they are dealt with within our service standard timescales 
  • Assist with processing Electricity Supply Enquiries (ESE's) and the subsequent work streams 
  • Perform a wide variety of responsible administrative and office duties, regularly and independently to assist Energy staff and Engineers, adhering to relevant Policies and Procedures

Experience 
  • Competent IT Skills, including Microsoft Apps such as Excel, Word, Outlook & Teams
  • Experience of working within an administrative role  
  • Experience of working in the Utility or Energy sectors would be highly desirable
