Job Purpose

 

The purpose of this role is as follows:

 
  • To assess and trouble shoot metering system performance and complete site visits to resolve communication issues, e.g. bridge reboots / software updates, communications etc. Where required escalate metering issues which cannot be resolved to the metering coordinators and regional energy risk manager. The role does not involve entering any electrical panels or installation of meters.
  •            
  • Work with the project coordinators leading on metering and energy and carbon management to maintain metering performance. The role will also work with the Analysts to support reporting of meter performance, improving meter reliability and through the provision of data support the wider energy and carbon management programmes to drive continuous improvement.
 

Job Accountabilities

 
  • Support performance improvements for electrical metering across the business, to identify and drive the continuous improvement of the Metering process’s
  •            
  • Undertake site visits to rectify metering communication issues. Identify wider metering defects and raise requests for remedial works.
  •            
  • Provide metering coordinators with regular feedback for team metrics
  •            
  • Support metering coordinators with the management of workflow to resolve metering issues
  •            
  • Support Metering Coordinators with SLA reporting
  •            
  • Assist the team in understanding technical aspects of metering (Meter tests, data logging, metering equipment, interpreting data, meter relocation and meter right-sizing) and all Customer and Market Processes through effective coaching.
  •            
  • Assist Data Analysts with complex queries.
  •            
  • To raise work to UUs contractors and Field Service Engineers to rectify metering issues
  •            
  • Support the development and assist in delivery of suitable training documentation and guidance
  •            
  • Support with systems testing for metering data collection
  •            
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with our metering partners.
  •            
  • Provide guidance for escalated queries and understand when it is appropriate to escalate to managers
  •            
  • Ensure that user guides, process and procedures are kept updated and that all team members know how to use them and understand all content
  •            
  • To reallocate work and maintain the through put of work into the section for all metering process’s
  •            
  • To support Data Analyst activities when workloads required
 

Knowledge and Skills

 
  • Able to influence and communicate simply and effectively to embed change in behaviours and habits.
  •            
  • Knowledge of all aspects of electrical metering and associated equipment
  •            
  • Knowledge and understanding of data management systems
  •            
  • A solid understanding of the Water Industry and regulatory constraints
  •            
  • Knowledge and / or understanding of water and wastewater treatment assets / process
  •            
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others with a strong performance drive
  •            
  • Microsoft Office skills in particular Excel for report production, Word, Power Point and SharePoint
  •            
  • Strong customer service / relationship management focus and able to act as UU’s electrical metering champion when engaging with others, e.g. operational personnel
  •            
  • Ability to solve problems and establish logical options and select/generate solutions to meter related issues.
  •            
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with internal and external customers efficiently and courteously
