Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Design Duties: Conduct calculations, create 2D CAD layouts/schematics, and produce written specifications and schedules for tender in compliance with BS 7671, IET, and CIBSE standards.
- System Design: Design systems for LV power distribution, lighting, small power, containment, data, EV charging facilities, and more, while coordinating with other building services.
- Project Management: Plan, complete, and monitor project delivery within scope, budget, and timeframes. Allocate tasks to trainee/graduate engineers as necessary.
- Technical Excellence: Develop technically sound concept, feasibility, and detailed designs, ensuring compliance with government health and safety regulations.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct design reviews and checks, prepare budget projections, and analyse contractor tender returns and variations.
- Site Work: Undertake site surveys, snagging inspections, and prepare written progress reports.
- Collaboration: Liaise with the Design Team to ensure high-quality, technically compliant designs.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with advancements in engineering practices and technologies through Continued Professional Development (CPD).
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Proven experience in delivering projects from inception to completion.
- Strong project management, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD (2D), Revit (3D BIM), Dialux, Amtech, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and other software commonly used in the industry).
- 2:1 Bachelor's Degree in Building or Related Services Engineering OR:
- Level 3 City & Guilds Electrotechnical Engineering (5357), OR
- Level 3 City & Guilds Design, Erection & Verification (2396).
- Professional, approachable, and a great teammate.
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
- A flexible, proactive approach with a commitment to excellence.
- Clean driving license.
