Job Description

What you'll do
  • Contributing in a course of action to resolve potential or actual Distribution/Leakage issues in order to minimise the level of inconvenience to the customer. Identifying and pin pointing leak location, i.e. Mains, supply pipe or communication pipe. 
  • Achieving and maintaining the area leakage targets, by efficient sounding and route cause analysis.
  • Conducting visual inspections of Service Reservoirs weekly and monthly and report defects effectively on SAP in real time.
  • Dealing with sometimes difficult situations in a friendly and professional manner, whilst striving for a speedy resolution.
  • Reacting and working alongside all other departments during Silver & Gold incidents.
  • Ensuring that all GIS updates are submitted to GIS bureau to allow Welsh Water to maintain high quality information.
  • Ensuring the proper application and compliance with all company health and safety procedures, with the safety of colleagues and customers always in mind.
  • Effective liaison with colleagues in the distribution team during normal work practice and in times of emergency, arriving at network/leakage solutions.
  • Making sure the correct details are entered onto the various IT systems on a daily basis and real time closure of jobs as per CML (customer minutes lost).
  • Making recommendations for the improvement of the network.
  • Efficiently organising your own time, handling routine work with a minimum of supervision, assessing priorities within your area of work and managing those priorities
What you'll need
  • Current, full valid driving licence.
  • Experience of water industry, including a good level of Network / Leakage experience.
  • Be enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Sound understanding of Microsoft software packages including (but not limited to) Excel, Word, Access along with the company’s internal SAP packages.
  • Willingness to work along and as part of a team when required in line with the new shift patterns
  • Ability to work Safely to tight deadlines.

We're currently recruitng for two positions.

The ideal candidate would have customer service experience along with a similar 'hands on' type of role.
