We’ve created a brand new team for all our technical training here at Northumbrian Water, so we’ve an amazing opportunity to become our new Digital Learning Specialist, where you’ll be working within our Talent & training team to make our training amazing online ! You’ll be making a range of high quality and innovative online solutions in response to learning and training needs across the business and you’ll be accountable for the technical management of the Learning Management System (LMS)
So this new role is all about being creative in designing and maintaining a suite of effective online and blended learning in support of the annual technical training plan, along with advising the business on the best digital learning method to use for specific situations to ensure colleagues are competent in their role and have an inspiring learning experience.
Working with our Technical Training Manager (they are new too), you’ll be providing support for projects that contribute to the development and delivery of the annual technical training plan, along with working in collaboration with stakeholders in the business to design and deliver technical training using learning technologies.
We’re looking for you to manage the full learning cycle for key training projects and educate and support the business to increase their confidence in using learning technologies.
As this role is new, we’re looking for an amazing creative, innovative and future proofing person like you, but as you would expect, you’ll need some awesome experience too, so have you got proven experience of instructional design, including ability to work with stakeholders to create storyboards that are suitable to build engaging digital learning ?
This will be blended in with proven experience of designing online training using a variety of learning technology platforms and software like Articulate, Captivate or Gomo, along with experience in or capability to utilise video production software such as Vyond or WalkMe, and merge with other learning technology software.
As we take our online learning to the next level, we’re looking for you to have experience or capability to create mobile ready bite size learning and knowledge or experience of Virtual and Augmented Reality creation.
So it’s all good to have the design, but we really need you to know how to work through the full learning cycle to successfully manage projects from conception to completion and to be able to put in place effective ways of evaluating the online learning and assessing competence, so a knowledge of the tools, techniques and methodologies used to analyse, design plan and deliver high quality training is key too.
