Developer Service (Business Administration) Modern Apprentice

As part of our commitment to talent development we are now accepting applications for our 2021 Apprentice Programme which commences in August 2021 for you to join as a Development Services (Business Administration) Modern Apprentice.

 

Once we return to normal working conditions (post COVID) the main base for this role will be at our Stepps office near Glasgow, with flexibility needed to travel to other locations.

 

What will you be doing?

The role holder will receive support and development to work towards and complete a Business Administration Modern Apprenticeship, this will involve on the job training and external assessment.
Scottish Water’s Development Services Teams aim to help our customers at all stages of their development journey from planning all the way through to applying, constructing and completion. The role holder will spend time in all areas of the department to gain a broad understanding of all the work we do from ensuring that Scottish Water assets and the network have both the availability and capability to deal with any new domestic and non-domestic development by understanding the future demands for water and wastewater capacity across Scotland and seek to ensure those demands can be met by promoting the right investment in the right places at the right time, but also being part of the Technical audit review process and physical connections of new infrastructure across Scotland.

The role is to provide administrative support within the Development Services team, in order to help drive outstanding customer service and outperform other key regulatory targets.

The apprenticeship role is an 18 month fixed term position.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for people who are self-motivated, team players who are well organised, good problem solvers with a positive attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative. You’ll have five National 4 or 5 Qualifications (English, Maths and Science are advantageous but not essential) You must have a full or working towards a UK driving licence. 

It is desirable that you have a good understanding of Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and a desire to learn new skills.

Desirable Skills required for the role:

  • Previous experience in delivering excellent customer service.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Strong customer focus.

  • Organisational skills.

  • Time management.

  • Commitment to learning, developing new skills and putting these to use on the job.
