What is the Role?
We are recruiting a Data Services Administrator for our new business development into Half Hourly Data Collection and Aggregation services. As part of this role you'll be responsible for ensuring the Half Hourly data is processed in accordance with the balance and settlement code and ensure the company completes the requirements under (BSC) in a timely manner without incurring any financial penalties for non-compliance. You'll also be responsible for ensuring any dial failures are resolved quickly & efficiently by liaising with third party agents and will also provide reporting to customers regarding their Half Hourly data. You'll manage any customer enquiries, providing excellent customer service.
The Half Hourly consumption data is remotely collected from the customers electricity meter daily in 48 half hour periods. This half hourly data is then validated and issued to the registered electricity supplier for billing. The data is also used for settlement purposes and we are regulated to achieve 99% of actual data across the portfolio.
The team will be dealing with a large amount of data and reporting on a daily basis. The work you'll carry out has legislative as well as financial impacts for the company and other parties within the UK energy market framework. Although part of a team you must be able to work independently and take ownership of issues/problems and work through to a successful conclusion. This is to ensure we provide excellent customer service and meet with our obligations.
As this is a new team you'll be part of creating work processes and instructions using best practices in order to ensure we obtain the required qualification from Elexon. You'll also be expected to provide training to future colleagues as the team grows with full support from the DC/DA manager.
What do I need?
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar Data Administrator role and have excellent IT understanding able to use Microsoft suite of software e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook. Attention to detail will be important to you and you must be able to demonstrate analytical/problem solving skills. An understanding of the UK Energy Market and the Elexon Balance and Settlement Code (BSc) would be advantageous.
You'll have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate your ideas and instructions effectively to customers, your team and colleagues. You'll be able to organise yourself to ensure targets are achieved and good time management working within BSc requirements. You'll have a flexible approach to change and be prepared to try out different ideas, and you'll be commercially minded and have experience of making well thought out decisions to achieve the right outcome for the business. Above all else, you'll have a naturally positive outlook and be able to inspire those around you with your enthusiasm and desire to do the right thing.
