Data Protection Manager 
SP HQ, Glasgow
Salary from £47,000 - £70,000 + up to 15% Bonus

Based within the People function encompassing Human Resources and Health and Safety, this role will lead and have responsibility for the delivery of the functions data protection program including the definition, development and governance of all data protection measures to ensure proactive protection of information assets across the function and related 3rd party providers.

 

You'll work directly with key senior stakeholders within the function, liaise closely with the Corporate Data Protection team and external 3rd party providers to ensure alignment with company and legislative objectives in relation to data protection.  

 

You will be the subject matter expert within the function for all matters in relation to Data Protection and be the main liaison point for internal and external stakeholders. 

 

What you'll be doing

 

Leading on Contract negotiations in relation to Data Protection liaising with wider business & Procurement. Have responsibility for ensuring P&O meets their obligations under Article 30 of the GDPR, whilst ensuring any necessary Data Protection Impact Assessments are conducted and inform the risks arising and risk-mitigation recommendations, and any necessary Legitimate Impact Assessments are conducted.

 

You'll ensure training and awareness on data processing requirement is being delivered within P&O and H&S, whilst being responsible for the monitoring of Data Protection KPI's across P&O and escalate any issues. Be the point of contact for data subjects exercising their rights and raise awareness and competence of Data Privacy and Protection compliance and it's application to Business process and systems.

  • Batchelor's Degree or relevant experience
  • Proven expertise in Data Privacy Protection\Compliance or other related areas
  • Understanding of developing threat and risks
  • Expert knowledge of the regulatory environment
  • Developed understanding of the Data Protection Act/GDPR
  • National Security Vetting cleared, or ability to obtain
