The Data Protection Analyst will be part of delivering the ScottishPower Data Protection program, ensuring the proactive protection of information assets across all areas of ScottishPower including appropriate protection when processing is performed by third parties.

This role collaborates with the other Corporate Security teams to develop, govern, oversee and support ScottishPower Data Protection measures.

What you'll be doing

You'll assist with the design, development, and implementation of the Data Protection Strategy, and Roadmap to protect Company Information.

You'll collaborate with the Global Data Protection team to ensure that both global and local Data Protection requirements are met.

You ll assist with ensuring the business has appropriate processes & procedures to comply with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR and will advise on contract negotiations about Data Protection

This role provides support to ensure ScottishPower meets its obligations and raises awareness of Data Protection compliance. You will provide support on Legitimate Impact Assessments and assist with the implementation of training and awareness and be responsible for the monitoring of Data Protection KPIs.

You will support Data Protection Managers in conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments, including the identification of risks and appropriate mitigation measures.

You'll be a point of contact for Data Subjects exercising their rights and, working in collaboration with the Data Protection functions across ScottishPower, you will carry out root cause analysis on data breaches, ensuring all required mitigating actions are identified and completed.

What we're looking for

  • Practical experience of Data Protection

  • Working knowledge of risk management, mitigation and remediation

  • Knowledge of Compliance, Information Management & Records Management

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to build effective relationships for key stakeholders locally and globally

  • Solid understanding of IT processes, IT security and technology risk
