We have an exciting opportunity of Data Development Lead within the Business Customer Data & Insight Team. You will be responsible for managing all ongoing development deliveries and maintenance activities across the customer Data and Analytics environments, including, building, and implementing new data sources for the Customer Data Warehouse, managing and refining business rules to create a Single Customer View as well as managing all segmentation deliveries.

This role offers lots of variety and the opportunity to work with stakeholders across multiple business units. A unique and challenging role offering vast development possibilities where no one day will look the same.

Location: We have a hybrid-work environment, where you will be predominantly home-based but required to Leicester/ Windsor occasionally

Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver data change plan in line with customer warehouse requirements and developments

  • Liaise with DTS and third-party offshore teams to manage and prioritise product backlog according to agile methodology

  • Responsible for conducting low level design, Quality Assurance, User Acceptance Testing and Data Validation across data development activities

  • Manage and maintain data dictionary for the customer analytics warehouse. Specify changes and manage changes in line with business requirements

  • Use data matching tools (Experian Aperture) to run and refine business rules to create BGB's Single Customer View

  • Manage existing segmentation processes according to agreed definitions, including, managing weekly segmentation reviews for acquisitions and renewals across CBS and Small Business teams

  • Support role out plans across BGB Business Units that require access to the customer analytics environment and single customer view

  • Support Data Transition Plans with third party data aggregator to ensure single customer view capability is used to drive campaign management activities

  • Represent BGB customer data & insight team across wider DTS changes, including, AWS and MS Azure developments

What we need from you:

  • Advanced SQL Server (Essential)

  • Advanced SSIS skills (Essential)

  • Good stakeholder management (Essential)

  • Knowledge of matching algorithms desirable

  • Strong data manipulation skills

  • Good analytical skills to identify problems that require data fixing
