Job Purpose
- To define, lead and resolve Dynamic Network Management Improvements and projects. Monitoring, validating and analysing data from the Dynamic Network Management (DNM) platform and other UU corporate systems to identify behaviours, trends and performance across the wastewater.
- Complete analysis to identify and recommend appropriate interventions and driving continual improvement to deliver financial efficiency, regulatory performance and exceptional customer service.
- To work closely with the Wastewater County teams, internal departments, external framework contractors to identify key performance, benefit cases, and root cause of problems within the wastewater.
Job Accountabilities
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for all data required for Dynamic Network Management to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Support, define and manage system changes/testing in relation to DNM.
- Lead and support the business through best practice processes through identification, interpretation of operational data and collaboration to deliver adherence to policy and procedure.
- To work with operational teams to define, develop and implement processes that improve DNM ways of working.
- Responsible for detailed analysis of complex data.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure systems are tested efficiently.
- Work/manage internal and external DNM processes are being followed
- Keeping track of DNM roadmap with any system or ways of working changes. Ensure internal & external processes and user guides are up to date with business change (QA) Develop DNM ways of working Develop & deliver MI dashboards
- Communicate with DNM analytical support team and technical system support to notify of issues and raise escalations
- Use UU core systems to complete detailed analysis of wastewater network performance to target areas for intervention and support business decision making
- Attend relevant meetings to communicate and interrogate findings based on data analysis
- General analysis to understand problems and investigate root cause
- Trend analysis and hot spotting
- Support in the development and delivery of the Integrated drainage area strategies
- Apply company approach to ‘Systems Thinking’ where appropriate
- Consolidate data relating to the geographical area, and regional area when required.
- Liaison with other departments including County Business teams, Central Operations and external contractors such as Jacobs to coordinate data analysis activities in order to increase the effectiveness of the DNM platform
Knowledge and Skills
Skills, qualifications and experience:
- Relevant educational qualifications, normally a degree or equivalent experience, in a numerate or technical discipline.
- Requirement to maintain knowledge and skills, and to be able to develop within the role.
- Good data analysis, coordination and planning skills having a methodical mind-set and attention to detail
- Analytical skills with the ability to establish logical connections and identify trends and exceptions.
- Ability to accurately record, interpret, manipulate and present information.
- Excellent skills manipulating large datasets using Excel, and databases.
- Ability to work under own initiative. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience of VBA, SQL and developing dashboards would also be advantageous.
- Computer literate and familiar with common computer software packages such as Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of core systems such as MS SharePoint, Salesforce, Tableau, Aqua DNA, Aqua Suite and OneMap.
- Minimum of 2 years data analyst experience essential.
- Preferably some knowledge of wastewater practices, techniques and some understanding of the UU core systems.
