The Cyber Audit and Assurance Lead will be responsible for planning assurance-based activities, reporting the outcomes and results back to senior management.
This role will integrate into an active and ambitious global cyber security function, contributing to cyber security purpose of delivering cyber resilient OT and IT, to enable a safe and reliable electricity supply to customers.
What you'll be doing
You'll support the Cyber Governance and Assurance Manager in all aspects of OT audit and assurance, being part of the wider Cyber Risk function. You'll help to identify industry standards and regulatory guidelines for information security, to help minimise the risk of compromise of sensitive business systems.
A key part of this role will be to support the development, maintenance, and evaluation of security policies and procedures, working closely with engineering and operations teams, to ensure controls meet security requirements.
In addition, you'll manage and follow-up on results of audits and assurance activities, as well as researching new and specialist techniques, working cross industry.
You'll get the opportunity to support ScottishPower Renewable's ambitious security transformation programme to transparently reduce risk, achieve compliance with NIS regulations and deliver a cyber resilient business. The programme of work has kicked off and is planned to deliver through to 2027.
Other aspects of the role include:
Assessing the efficacy design and operating effectiveness of key controls
Carrying out independent reporting of organisational risk to senior management and relevant governance forums.
Reporting effectiveness of security controls and processes through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Control Indicators (KCIs).
Monitoring changes to the external regulatory environment and cybersecurity threat landscape, and advising stakeholders on the resulting impact to the organisation.
Monitoring planned and ad-hoc risk assessment activities to ensure they follow the defined risk management methodology and any deviations are captured with required justification.
Assess the effectiveness of the risk treatment plan
What we're looking for
Skills and experience in understanding at a very technical level how IT/OT controls are implemented and operated.
Previous knowledge of, and experience in supporting the definition of and implementations of an IT/OT Risk & Compliance framework.
Previous experience of defining and delivering aspects of an IT/OT controls assurance programme in an organisation of similar scope and scale to ScottishPower, with previous experience in a global organisation preferred.
Experience in the preparation for, and coordination of, external audits.
Knowledge of external and internal compliance requirements that impact an IT/OT function.
Awareness of key legislation and regulation impacting IT/OT General Control requirements in an energy utility (nice to have)
