About the role
We are looking for existing Craft or Maintenance Technicians to join the new Essex Capital Insourcing Team
You’ll be reporting to the team lead and you will be required to successfully scope and design solutions to identified issues and then carry out installations and modifications of electrical and instrumentation equipment to a high professional standard on ESW sites.
You will be responsible for liaising with asset owners and issue owners to efficiently deliver these low to medium complexity solutions on ESW operational sites while safeguarding the site process and being compliant with all necessary regulations. You will support projects from initiation right through to commissioning to ensure assets are created, replaced, maintained and renewed in line with company procedures.
This will involve carrying out craft duties outside of their core trade following appropriate training and competency checks. This will be achieved by following company policies, procedures and guidelines to gain maximum efficiency of the business without compromising health & safety.
This includes working with and/or overseeing appointed contractors and equipment suppliers where necessary to achieve the above.
The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills and proven experience of designing, installing and commissioning EMI systems. Experience with Telemetry/ SCADA and Instrumentation and Control systems is desirable as is a recognised inspection and testing qualification however aptitude and willingness to form these skills will be considered.
You’ll have proven experience adapting and interpreting data to analyse problems in order to find solutions, as well as learning and understanding site processes (technical and scientific) as part of arriving at the solution. You’ll be able to focus on the task, integrate solutions and work through to completion with minimum supervision and often on your own.
We need you to have experience in communicating clearly, both orally and in writing. In addition you will demonstrate the ability to lead, support and direct colleagues or contractors.
You will have a strong commitment to Health and Safety and ideally have experience of working to CDM procedures and as well as a recognised apprenticeship or proven transferable experience.
