Affinity Water have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and logical-thinking problem solver to join the leadership team within Control Operations.

Your next role

As Control Operations Lead, you will lead and develop a high performing multi-skilled team within the Control Operations centre, leading a team of up to 12 shift-based reports who are responsible for the strategic movement of water around the business.

Reporting to the Head of Control Operations, you will be accountable for the continued development of the Control Operations team, providing support and guidance to improve process and procedures and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

You’ll direct, plan and organise improvement projects within the Control Operations centre, delivering these to time and budget whilst minimising the impact and risk to our customers and the rest of the company.

What you’ll need

You will have an engineering/scientific background and definite technical bias. Experience in water/wastewater, broader utilities sector, operational arena or control room environments would provide a distinct advantage.

Leading a team of professional colleagues is not always easy but you’ll have a proven track record of operational team leadership and development and you’ll be ready to motivate your team and influence others at all levels to deliver key company performance targets.  

You will need a full UK driving licence to travel between business locations and participate in the leadership standby roster.
