Contract Manager
Salary – £54,606 to £68,257 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours – 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am to 5.00pm

As a Contract Manager at FCC Environment, you will be fully conversant with the operational requirements of the Contract under your remit.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week, however, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).

What will you be doing?
Ensure that the contract and vehicles are operating to maximum efficiency.
Ensure full and satisfactory use of the Whitespace operational management and support system.
Oversee and deliver all reporting requirements to the Authority, as contained and stipulated in the contract specification.
Effective management to maintain a high level of service delivery and reporting to ensure that the company is not financially penalised for failures.
To implement the Group’s Health and Safety Policy, SHE Manual and statutory regulations on site and within the Contract in general.
To ensure that all work allocated to FCC is completed to an acceptable standard with regard to time and specification, within the cost limits established to ensure profitability to the level determined by target.
Oversee and ensure the efficient use of resources with regard to equipment, materials and personnel.
To apply the necessary standard for recruitment and training of personnel and implement the Company's standard of discipline and personnel procedures.
To ensure that work performance of staff and operatives is maintained to the highest possible level and is regularly monitored and reviewed.
To ensure and promote efficient cost-effective methods of working.
Overall responsibility for ensuring that operations are legally compliant and that processes and systems are consistent with the quality and environmental policies and procedures in place.
Monitor and control the operations to ensure the achievement of budgeted revenue, operating profit and cash targets.
To ensure that operational and maintenance activities are carried out to standard and within budgeted levels of expenditure, whilst achieving minimum downtime of process plant and vehicles.
To ensure that safe systems of work are in place and all staff are trained in their application, for all activities.
The provision of operational cost reporting and the preparation of forecasts and budgets.
To work with the business development team to maximise revenue opportunities and improve customer service.
To ensure that the necessary complement of well-trained and motivated staff is regularly in attendance and working safely to achieve the Contract’s objectives.
Oversee the arrangement and provision of training to ensure that the site operatives possess the necessary range of skills to produce the required results.
Promote flexible working arrangements are in operation in order to maximise operational efficiency.
To ensure that the operatives are well and regularly briefed about the Contract objectives.
To ensure that disciplinary matters are dealt with firmly and fairly and that grievances are resolved as close as possible to their point of origin.
To discuss with employees matters affecting efficiency and productivity as and when required.
Be fully aware of planning consents, waste disposal permits, operator licences relating to the sites and ensure that they are not breached.
To ensure that the Site is operated in compliance with all relevant Company and statutory environmental requirements.
To implement and follow site management system (IMS) and site filing systems (SFS) to ensure compliance with operational standards.
To protect the reputation of the Company in the community in which it operates by adopting demanding standards of tidiness and care. Communicate the company's philosophy and examples of it in action locally to community representative bodies and actively participate in the quarterly public liaison meetings.
What we are looking for
Holder of Transport Manager CPC or willing to work towards.
Ideally educated to at least A level standard; ideally a graduate in business or process disciplines.
Experience of operational management, ideally within the waste or similar industry.
Strong reputation for consistent delivery of projects on time and to budget within a demanding environment.
Operational management within a sector where compliance with regulatory controls is an important factor.
Experienced in managing teams in a production environment with a track record of delivering to production and financial targets.
Experienced in preparing and working to budgets.
Proven ability as a line manager; able to recruit, develop, motivate and control operations and technical staff working in a processing, extractive industry or utility environment.
