Job Description

As a Construction Supervisor in the Capital Delivery (Storage) Team, you will play a key role in delivering reservoir and water treatment structure projects across our Central, South, and South East regions. Your presence on-site will help you work with Project Managers and Contractors to maintain quality and manage risks. By conducting audits, inspections, and tests, you will ensure high-quality, compliant, and safe construction.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead by example, promote health and safety, and conduct site inductions, safety briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Conduct site surveys, identify hazards and complete risk assessments.
  • Highlight potential specification and design issues before they affect construction, cost or schedule.
  • Assist Project Managers in managing contractors, ensuring measures are in place to manage construction risks.
  • Monitor contractor performance, conduct regular audits, and keep records of construction activities including diaries of people, plant, and material.
  • Review contractor procedures to ensure compliance with accepted RAMs, standards, and specifications.
  • Ensure that construction activities and materials supplied by contractors comply with relevant standards, specifications, and legislation.
  • Investigate non-conformances, develop solutions, and take ownership of defect identification and resolution processes.
  • Report and investigate SHEQ hazards, near misses, and incidents.
  • Witness testing and commissioning activities and manage acceptance procedures.
  • Inspect finished works, certify quality standards, and manage handover activities, including snagging items.
  • Investigate new materials and technology applications to meet maintenance and construction requirements.
  • Provide technical construction expertise and protect the principles of water hygiene.

What you'll need:

  • Proven experience in managing contractors and subcontractors.
  • Proven experience in controlling quality and workmanship during construction.
  • Knowledge of water industry standard specifications.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing or supervising construction sites.
  • Relevant CSCS card and/or SMSTS accreditation.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Must have a full clean/UK - manual driving licence.
