Job Purpose

 

This is an exciting challenge for you to take on the efficient, cost effective provision and maintenance of approximately 2300 assets for the Company of which there are approximately 300 HGV vehicles. You will be working within a fast-paced and challenging part of our business and we are looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to our Transport Services team.

You will be required to provide valuable day to day support to the Workshop Technicians, to be a technical lead within the Workshop and a key focal point for in depth diagnostics and HGV MOT preparation work.

 

Job Accountabilities

 
  • Ensure that all maintenance compliance obligations are met.
  •            
  • Perform Monthly Workshop Health and Safety inspections, liaise with the Workshop Controller and take appropriate action to minimise Health and Safety risks.
  •            
  • To carry out fleet maintenance on a range of assets including, HGV, trailers, plant equipment
  •            
  • Ensure that all service KPIs are achieved by carrying out effective maintenance on a range of assets
  •            
  • Ensure that an optimum inventory is kept by liaising with suppliers and the wider Fleet team
  •            
  • Oversee Technicians to ensure a safe working environment and as a mentor to apprentices
  •            
  • Provide technical support and diagnostic expertise to ensure accurate and safe maintenance is completed
 

Knowledge and Skills

 
  • NVQ level 3 HGV Repair and Maintenance certificate
  •            
  • IRTEC vehicle inspection technician
  •            
  • Expert in vehicle electrics and computer fault diagnostic
  •            
  • Ability to work in a team but also alone, be resilient, self-motivated, with strong problem solving skills and possess the required technical competencies
  •            
  • Significant experience in a transport maintenance environment with a thorough understanding of the technical requirements of running a workshop and experienced with HGV's, Tankers, Light Vans and Plant
