A bit more about the role

You will contribute to delivering generalist or specialist HR services including recruitment, reward, employment relations, organisational performance, employee communications and learning and development.  As well as providing advice on HR issues, and support the development and implementation of HR policy and change. 

You will support the day to day running of the HR function by providing general HR administration duties. Working with the Policy Manager, you will ensure that the HR policy content is appropriate and up to date. You will be involved and contribute to HR and Training Delivery projects as part of the HR Strategic Plan
Support the planning and implementation of cyclical reward activity (including salary review, and flexible benefits) as well as supporting activity in relation to apprentices, graduates and talent groups.

You will assist with the development, design and delivery of annual talent events, e.g. apprentices and graduates and well as providing guidance / training for managers on recruitment and selection policies and procedures to ensure the Company's legislative compliance

You will provide professional candidate management throughout the recruitment and selection process to ensure that every candidate has a positive and professional experience of our recruitment process

In this role you'll be answering customer queries professionally, accurately in accordance with agreed service levels via telephone and work flow. You will also provide an end to end service for business users, relating to training requests for mandatory and development training. 

You will assist with the facilitation of delegates training through scheduling courses and updating training records. And work with local engagement teams to organise regular engagement activity and facilitate discussion to understand key themes for action planning.

Analyse local employee satisfaction survey results, identify issues and assist with local communication.

Successful apprentices will achieve HR Support level 3 Apprenticeship Standard endorsed by the Institute for Apprenticeships.

During your apprenticeship you'll learn:

  • How to resolve customer queries in relation to everything HR and training
  • How to ensure that the HR policy content is appropriate and up to date
  • How we recruit for apprentices, graduates and talent groups
  • How we provide an end to end service for business users, relating to training requests form mandatory and development training.
  • How we run HR and Training Delivery projects as part of the HR Strategic Plan.

 

What we're looking for:

We're looking for someone who's keen to gain hands on experience, develop practical skills and achieve the qualifications needed to really succeed in your role. 

You'll have a dedicated mentor and manager who'll be on hand to support you every step of the way. All that we ask from you is that you're willing to learn, know how to work as part of a team and can manage your time and workload to get things done. 

You'll also need to have 5 GCSEs or equivalent, grades A-C, or grades 9-4, which must include Maths, English Language and a science or technology subject.

If you have a strong interest and understanding of HR, are great at organising and planning, a whizz with Microsoft applications, have great communication skills and are able to deal with challenging and sensitive work, this is the role for you!
