Role
This role is required to deliver, operate, and maintain ED2 and T2 projects. Improve the internal process, customer experience, operation, and the availability of the network.
Network Digitalisation, Advanced Energy Management Systems (AEMS) will be responsible for the specification, planning, development, operation, and maintenance of applications and systems that enhance the functionalities of SCADA control systems.
Some of these electrical applications are all applications who use the SCADA data like a source and aren't part of current SCADA Telecontrol System (PowerOn), allowing the possibility to create new analysis or features to improve the internal process, customer experience, operation, and the availability of the network.
AEMS team plays a key role in the evolution of SPEN towards DSO and TSO.
Applications such as Active Network Management (ANM), Circuit Rating
Management and REPOWER together with overarching Orchestration systems will be responsibility of AEM team within Network Digitalisation.
What you'll be doing
Process definition - Define streamlined process to efficient and timely delivery of the projects.
Process Documentation - Keep an updated documentation library including the description of the Delivery and OAM process for the different AEMS applications (i.e. ANM, GEMS, DR, CRMS). Define and keep updated process documentation for internal and external customers and contractors.
Project Definition - Support the development of business cases that define the costs, benefits and delivery approach related to systems development or refresh.
Project Delivery - Managing the project lifecycle to ensure successful completion, with effective stakeholder communication throughout.
Supplier Engagement - Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and supervising the delivery of services from them to ensure on-time, on-budget performance.
Escalation Support - to assist with the resolution of escalated operational problems and restoration of service.
Support the production of the annual work program.
Investigate failures and defects and recommend appropriate remedial actions and/or changes as required.
Perform all duties in support of SP Energy Networks Operational Excellence goals & other
business drivers.
Supervise the production, development, and maintenance of ANM policy and process documentation reflecting best practise and operational experience.
Provide expert opinion to evaluate and recommend new system solutions and technologies.
Perform all duties with a strong emphasis on health, safety, quality and environmental
matters.
What you'll bring
Proven track record of delivery that balances technical and commercial judgement.
Project Management experience of In-depth technical applications and architecture development.
Working knowledge of:
Project Management of multi-disciplined teams.
Cyber security management and policies.
AEMS (Advanced Energy Management Systems) and/or ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) technologies
Network related data and associated communication systems.
CDM Regulations and other relevant Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations.
Purchasing policy & legal obligations.
Skills should include:
Experience ideally gained through operational, technical, and commercial engineering roles.
Strategic vision
Numerically articulate with strong attention to detail.
Ability to devise solutions to complex problems & challenges.
Excellent interpersonal, communication & negotiation skills.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical & non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing.
Ability to consult others within the business, resolve differences and present a common agreed perspective.
Ability to effectively work with external vendors, customers, and other stakeholders.
Minimum Requirement
Degree in electrical, electronic or telecommunication engineering OR relevant experience OR HND/HNC (or equivalent) supported by minimum of five years post-training experience in an engineering and/or Project management role within a utility business.
Knowledge of Energy Networks health & safety requirements and compliance.
Project management Experience.
Numerate and able to deal with finances for the purposes of managing budgets or contracts with suppliers, including procurement and Frameworks.
Must be a proven team player to work, promote and consolidate efficient team working relationships.
Driving licence.
